Background

At the age of 30 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. During my illness I quickly realised that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

As I went through the different stages of my Cancer treatment, I made thank you cards to give to everyone that helped me along the way - doctors, nurses, specialists, volunteers, family, friends etc. It was my way of showing my appreciation and to say thank you. 

I saw the impact that a small gesture like this made to a person’s day. It encouraged them and simply made them feel appreciated and this also made me feel good inside.

Six months later when my treatment was complete I ventured back to work, but within a few weeks I suddenly felt that what I was doing in my day-to-day job felt really meaningless. I just new I had to make some significant changes in my life and it was time to fulfil some of my personal life goals. So I made the courageous move and quit my job.
